Recently, Fossil released an update to some of its watches via the usual Play Store system. The update appears to include two new watch faces: “Fitness Digital” and “Dashboard Digital”.
As cool as it is, the update also appears to have removed a whopping 33 watch faces, a removal that appears to primarily affect the Fossil Gen 5, but could also include other models in the family, such as the Fossil Gen 5E and their LTE variants.
It’s not at all clear why Fossil eliminated so many watch faces. Perhaps it has to do with the imminent arrival of Wear OS 3, but we know for sure that the third version of the operating system will not arrive on Fossil Gen 5 models.
