Here are the limitations for Google Meet: free accounts will have 60 minutes for group calls

Google Meet received a substantial increase in its reach and popularity following the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced billions of people around the world to work from home and interact with others in virtual mode .

To meet the great demand and need for virtual meeting platforms, Google had granted unlimited use of Meet for all users, even for those who do not pay a subscription to the platform. This derogation has been granted and extended several times, up to last 30 June . In fact, from that date the new limits of use for free users came into force, let's review them together:

  • Calls with two participants can last up to 24 hours .
  • Calls with at least three participants can last up to 60 minutes .

In fact, at minute 55 the participants in the group call will receive a notification that will inform them of the approach of the time limit. This can be avoided by upgrading the account of the person who organized the call, otherwise the call will stop automatically at the stroke of the first hour.

Upgrading your Workspace account to use Meet without limits has a monthly fee of $ 7.99 (currently discounted), after the free trial period of 14 days . More details can be found on the official website.
