How to use TikTok voice in your own videos

TikTok makes it very easy for us to record, edit and publish videos. Anything that comes into your head can become a video that goes viral. In addition, you have everything at a click. Original music and sounds to accompany your images, filters and effects, subtitles and even a narrator, TikTok's voice. It's known as text-to-speech and it will be very useful if you don't want to speak in your videos and prefer a Loquendo-style voice that reads what you write. What more could you want?

And like everything on TikTok, converting text to speech to accompany your posts is relatively easy. Whether you use TikTok on your iPhone or on an Android smartphone. In your videos you can use your own music and songs or those offered by this platform. You can also add sounds and sound effects, and all this accompanied by a voice that explains the video or plays with the images. It can be your own voice, normal or distorted, or the TikTok voice. The only limit is your creativity. And the duration of the publication.

As a curiosity, last year TikTok changed his voice for a new one. The reason? The actress who had put the original voice sued this platform because she was being used for something for which she had not been hired. So TikTok owners ByteDance solved the mess by changing the voice. Let's see how to add it to your videos.

Text to speech in your TikTok videos

Let's say you are a TikTok user and you have the official Android or iOS app installed. Of course, you will have to register as a user. It's free and you can use your Google or Facebook credentials to speed up the process. So you won't have to remember a new password. Once the app is open, you can view other's posts or create your own videos. To start recording or editing a publication, you just need to click on the icon with the + symbol. It's at the bottom of your phone's screen.

Next, the publication assistant gives you the choice between recording the video at that precise moment or uploading a video that you have saved on your smartphone. It also allows you to upload photos. Once we have the video, we can start editing it. It is at that moment that we can add everything. And what interests us is include the voice of TikTok.

To include a voiceover narrator in your video you will have to click on Text and then type the text you want to add to your video. By default, this adds text on top of images. So for the text to be read by the TikTok voice, we will have to click on the text that we want to hear and then select the option Text to speech.

The last step is Publish. Remember that you can hide the video so that only you can see it. And once you make sure you like how it looks, you can post it for everyone on TikTok to see. Another possibility is to save the video to Drafts and/or you can also publish it and save a copy on your phone.

Two details to note about TikTok voice. If you edit the text you want the voiceover to read, you'll need to re-enable the Text-to-speech option to have it read aloud. The editor itself will remind you as well. And if you don't like it, you can deactivate it by clicking on the text again and clicking on Cancel.
