Safety on Instagram: new functions are coming to fight hatred on the social network (photo)

Following unpleasant episodes during the Olympics and after the European football final , Instagram decided to make the social network safer and announced new features aimed at giving more control to users.

The first is called Limits : once activated, it allows you to hide the comments and requests in the DM of people who do not follow or have recently followed the profile in question. This feature is very useful for public figures who suffer abuse in comments or DMs: they will now only be able to receive messages and comments from “trusted” users and who have been followers for a long time.

Then tougher notifications for people trying to post potentially offensive comments or content : Instagram has seen that these warnings are very effective in deterring users from posting something offensive. Finally, the Hidden Words function is about to be launched globally: this automatically filters offensive comments received via DM in a hidden folder.
