Spotify Plus could be the subscription you've been waiting for (I would!)

How much would you pay for unlimited skips and the ability to choose which song to listen to, but always with advertising?

Spotify is testing a new subscription plan, Spotify Plus , for now only available to a limited number of users, which is a way to half between the free version and the Premium version: commercial breaks are always present, but there are no limits to the number of songs that you can skip every hour (6 songs / hour in the free version), and you can also choose any song you want to play, without be bound to any playlist (in the free version, only 15 selected playlists are “free”, the rest of the songs are in random shuffle). The cost? Just $ 0.99 , one tenth of the Premium subscription , at least in theory.

Spotify Plus seems to be a great idea for all those who can tolerate advertising, but at least want to choose which songs to listen to at any time. Too bad the price is not final. Some users have in fact confirmed the test at 99 cents, but Spotify pointed out that the Plus plan is offered to different users at different costs, probably just to understand how much they would be willing to pay .

We're always working to enhance the Spotify experience and we routinely conduct tests to inform our decisions. We're currently conducting a test of an ad-supported subscription plan with a limited number of our users. Some tests end up paving the way for new offerings or enhancements while others may only provide learnings. We don't have any additional information to share at this time.

For 99 cents a month, personally, I wouldn't think about it too much , but obviously if the price were to be different things would change. And it is clear that there is no guarantee that Spotify Plus will become available to everyone. Do you think that the first tests on lossless audio began in 2017, and the service was in fact announced only this year, and is yet to arrive. In short, before Spotify Plus is “mature”, it could take years, but at least there is hope. How much would you pay for such a service?
