The European Union wants a single app for everything: payment cards, identity cards and more

Currently we still find ourselves, despite the smart contribution of technology, having to deal with the need to have the main identity documents and sanitary ware, and sometimes also those of payment .

In fact, currently there is no unified and official means to digitalize one's documents . This is what the European Union wants to remedy. In fact, according to reports from the Financial Times, the EU would like all 27 member states to adopt a single app in which to store identity documents and payment cards . The app would also serve to store other official documents to access public services.

Clearly relevant security measures would be envisaged: access to the app would be protected by authentication which would also include the recognition of the fingerprint or the retina. Furthermore, the information contained in the app not may in any way be transferred to third-party entities for marketing purposes ).

This would be a significant step forward towards the unification and simplification of access to services. Moving from a situation, like the current one, in which each member state adopts its own digital identification procedure to one in which everything is centralized and faster .
