WhatsApp for macOS, development is well underway

In the last year WhatsApp has completely rewritten its app for Windows , basing it on Universal Windows Platform (UWP) and not on Electron . We announced that the company was also working on the macOS app and now the first images have appeared.

The guys from WABetaInfo , in fact, had access to a first version of the app , built with Mac Catalyst . Upon opening, WhatsApp will show a QR code to scan with your phone (image below), and obviously it doesn't have to be an iOS device .

The site also anticipated how the app has improved from the graphic and functional point of view , and being a native app it is faster and easier to use . At the moment WhatsApp for macOS is only a preview and cannot be downloaded . We do not have release times yet , but stay connected for other updates!
